Summary

To ensure that all assembly processes, equipment and supporting systems operate to their maximum effectiveness, within specified safety and cost constraints and that all products are of the highest possible quality. Maintain regular contact with production supervisors to keep them apprised of production floor issues that are encountered on a daily basis. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Metrics, and Skills are listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed or on a project basis throughout the year.

Transactional Related Duties

  • Develop all process sheets (Work Instructions) necessary to manufacture all products and ensure quality within established cost limits.
  • Develop continuous improvements of all manufacturing processes to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Properly define all test parameters for electrical and mechanical integrity of the products. Ensures that safety, quality, and environmental issues are considered and implemented. (with input and guidance from design and test engineers)
  • Monitor assembly and machine processes to resolve any problems and remove bottlenecks.
  • Develop, create and refine production layout and work flow mapping to ensure and improve production efficiency.
  • Plan, document, and provide periodic status reports on test results, processes and workflow improvements.
  • Plan, document, control and analyze RMA (Returned Material) to determine root cause and develop appropriate corrective action that will eliminate future non-conformities.
  • Maintain an awareness of customer requirements and any complaints to identify any areas that may need development or improvement.
  • Strictly adheres to policies, procedures, and processes established by MicroSun, supporting efficiencies and improvements where applicable.
  • Update BOMメs to reflect CAR and approved process improvements.
  • Work with engineers and prototype/sample department to ensure new products are properly documented, BOM and process sheets.
  • Work with purchasing and engineering to identify alternative sourcing options.
  • Special projects as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and ensure that all environmental and health and safety regulations are complied with, 5Sメs implemented on production floor
  • Assist in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment and ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with safety regulations and company rules.
  • Maintain all necessary production records.
  • Operate following equipment or perform the following tasks:
    • Calipers
    • Voltmeter
    • Assembly aids, jigs and fixtures
    • Electrical resistance welders
    • Ultrasonic welders
    • Electrical testing
    • Product labeling
    • Shrink wrapping
    • Read technical drawings
    • Operate power supplies

  • No direct reports

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience - BS in Industrial, Manufacturing or Industrial Technology or equivalent education and experience with at least 2 years of relevant electro-mechanical assembly process environment experience.
  • Experienced and able to do time studies, flow analysis, work load balancing, process sequence analysis and/or value stream mapping, TAKT Time
  • Customer Service - Pleasant approach, attitude, appearance, and follow through are requirements for this position.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Computer Skills - Ability to use technology such as project management tools, MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, AutoCAD and Outlook email in order to efficiently handle the workflow and transactions generated.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in MRP, MRP-II or ERP systems (any brand).
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, Six Sigma, TPS, 5S, TQM or other formal quality management systems highly desirable.
