Chicago, IL. – MicroSun Technologies, an industry leader in customized alternative power sources for the medical, commercial and military markets, announced today that John Gatti has joined the company as President and Chief Operating Officer for the U.S. and Malaysia. John will also serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of MicroSun Electronics.
Mr. Gatti has a long and distinguished career in the aerospace and defense sector along with some commercial market experience. Most recently he came from BAE Systems where he was vice president and operations executive for the Integrated Security Solutions line of business. A role he was promoted to after successfully leading the effort he was appointed to in 2007 as vice president of Homeland Security for BAE Systems, Inc. responsible to establish and profitably grow the company's position in Homeland Security.
Mr. Gatti joined BAE Systems through the acquisition of Armor Holdings, Inc., where he served as senior vice president and chief technology officer. He was responsible for leading the engineering and technology enterprise and was a member of the Armor Holdings executive committee. In this role he was responsible for driving cross-company integration, technology strategy, R&D and evaluation of candidate companies for acquisition.
Prior to joining Armor Holdings, Mr. Gatti spent nearly 20 years at Raytheon Company, working in engineering, technology, manufacturing and program management. He ended his tenure as vice president of Engineering, Technology & Programs for Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company.

Mr. Gatti has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Norwich University; Military College of Vermont and a Master of Science in Systems Design and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
