Chicago, IL. - MicroSun Technologies LLC, an industry leader in customized alternative power sources for the medical, commercial and military markets, announced today that Youssef Daou has joined the company as Advanced Product Development Manager.
With a distinguished career in Consumer, Medical and Energy Storage industries, Mr. Daou brings to MicroSun Technologies expertise in a wide range of critical areas, including Battery Development and Architecture; Power and Safety Management; Risk/Reward Management; Battery Technology; Supplier and Development Partner Management.
Mr. Daou was most recently with Dell, where he spent 8 years as a Battery Development Manager, overseeing a global team of design partners, suppliers and Dell engineers. In addition, Mr. Daou chaired the Quarterly Technical Reviews for all battery suppliers at Dell.
Prior to Dell, Mr. Daou was with Hi-Tronics, a Medical Electronics company, working on Batteries for Implantable Devices. Mr. Daou also worked for 6 years at Symbol Technology, a leader in handheld scanners and land mobile products, later acquired by Motorola. Responsibilities included leading the design team for Batteries and Power Supplies. Mr. Daou holds many patents and IPs as a result of his work in the battery industry, and is the author of numerous research studies and white papers.

Mr. Daou is a Ph.D. Candidate in Electro-Physics from Polytechnic University- Brooklyn, NY. He holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College- Riverdale, NY and an Electronics Engineering Degree from Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers- Paris, France.
